My lunch at Gadanha Mercearia...
Gadanha Mercearia is this amazing restaurant located in Estremoz, Alentejo, that serves beautiful and delicious food, made with top products, in a bohemian environment. In the center of the village, this is one of the best places to eat.
The master mind behind the kitchen is Chef Michele Marques... who gives a new twist to traditional products.
So lets talk about the food... this time I had no time to try several dishes like usual... This means that I will come back again.
To start some green olives, Portuguese olive oil and bread and homemade butter (with ham)...
The main course was steak with fries and fired egg (The famous "Bitoque" - in this case gourmet), with a foie gras sauce.
For dessert one of the most amazing I have ever eaten called "Chocolate and Citrus". This dessert is an amazing gastronomic achievement... chocolate mousse, citrus gel, orange crispy caramel and chunks of brownies.
After this outstanding meal the only advice that I can give you is... Go there soon!
By the way, they have one of the most amazing wine cellar that I ever see, if you have the chance buy an amazing wine to bring home.
