I don't know why! But I took a while to go to this restaurant... I only heard the best comments e reviews about it... Thanks to Zomato the wait is over.
Volver by Chakall is this incredible restaurant known for its amazing meat.
My expectations were on the roof.
The restaurant its not located in the city center but has the plus of having a lot of parking! A great plus!...
So about the food...
Since I went there with a invitation from Zomato the menu was already defined... But it doesn't mean that the food was less spectacular.
We start the dinner with this amazing drink called Strawberries' Daiquiris... mind blowing!... Great way to start the night.
Followed by the couvert... which was little bit inconsistent... with:
Stuffed mushroom with black pudding (lacking salt)
Black olive paste (I have no word to describe it, in a good way! I think that all the restaurant should serve something like that, instead of the traditional black olives)
Scones from "Azeitão" (a pleasant surprise! Crunchy on the outside without being dry in the inside)
Before the main dish they served us a mix of tapas, consisting in:
Stuffed Portobello mushroom with sausage (again... lacking salt)
Puff pastry with Brie. You shouldn't let this one get cold... The cheese melted!! YUMMY.
Argentine chorizo. (The best of all)
Bass ceviche (refreshing and must more light than the other)
Roasted pepper with almond.
The main dish...
Baby beef! This dish was the confirmation of all the rumors that I heard, regarding the quality of the meat. The meat was PHENOMENAL. served mid-raw and very well seasoned.
Served with a mesclum of potatoes, Volver salad and sauce-trio (Chimichurri, diablo - spicy - and mango sauce).
For dessert we choose: Argentinian Rogel pie (which I could eat every single day, but it can be quite nauseating if you are already full. However I strongly advice you to try it).
Cheesecake of goat cheese with walnuts and honey (the perfect dessert for the cheese lovers.)
