T'Chef

A restaurant with a lot to give and with potential... with pretty interesting dishes.

Once again... my favorite option in the restaurants - Tasting Menu. This type of menus are the ones who challenge the chef to keep every simple dish perfect... one mistake can ruin the entire experience. When you ask for it... everything is important (the food, the quality, the service, the timing between dishes, the environment... everything!)... Since this menus tend to last for a couple of hours.

So...  starting with the environment. The entire restaurant is very modern with quite a cool music, allowing a good conversation. The only thing that I didn't like was the radio music... despite the good music it was being transmitted through the English radio and... I'm not interested on the host comments.

Great Staff... very friendly e pleasant and always worried to know if everything was good. Something they should always keep.

The quality is unquestionable!

The food...

7 Dishes (with highs and lows)

Starting with a reinterpretation of a classic Portuguese dish: "Alheira" (Sausage) with fries, spinach, slow cooked egg and Port wine reduction. A very balanced and tasty dish.

"Alheira"
Braised Tuna with sesame seeds, carrots basil, celery and sweet garlic sauce... not as consistent as the previews one. the sauce had, in my opinion, little seasoning and the tuna should be served a little bit more rare.

Tuna
Cheeks pork and quail garnished with mozzarella ravioli and tomato sauce. The quail was spectacular, simple yet outstanding. The pork cheeks came in point (mid-rare), but had some nerve. Delicious raviolis. However I found the combination of all the elements a little off. Individually good ... Overall a bit strange.

Pork cheeks and quail
Codfish with cuttlefish ink risotto... a very artistic dish and a pleasant surprise, I didn't expect to see a dish like this in the menu, since the restaurant main customers are groups. I really liked it!

Codfish
Duck magret with strawberries couli and green salad with orange and croutons. For me the best dish from all the main dishes. The duck was great, showing a lot of technique and went really well with the couli.

Duck
The surprise dish! Chicken "Chamuça" with mozzarella and peach curry. This dish could be the perfect starter for any meal... this dish was only surpass by the dessert.

Chamuça
King of the night! the dessert. Apple "Pataniscas" with sweet potatoes cream and ice-cream. This dessert managed to elevate the comfort-food to another level. The perfect example how it is possible to use simple ingredients to do something incredible. Congratulations to the Chef.

Dessert
Overall... despite the lows... the restaurant is in the right path! And I got curious to see (... and taste!) their new menu.
