Assinatura! A restaurant that should be located in one of the best avenues of Lisbon. Its location its not bad but deserved a more emblematic and premium location.
The restaurant itself is quite cozy and pleasant. Great to catch up with a friend, for special occasions... in fact great for any occasion... due to the amazing food.
Since we start talking about the food... the menu is small (as it should be... do a few but do it really well) and has great choices... making the decision process a little bit hard...
After we choose, they served us the conventional couvert: 3 types of bread (bread from Alentejo, brown bread and cornbread), goat butter with oregano and chicken liver pate with pollen and Port wine glacé (old french style)... the butter was very delicious and with a pinch of fleur de sel (that we had in the table) was even better.
Between the couvert and the starter the send us an amuse-bouche... crackling toast with crab salad... the crackling was spectacular... not greasy and very crunchy.
Starters: swordfish with fennel and citrus. This dish was, for me, the best of the night by far. the swordfish was braised perfectly and cooked to perfection... Divine... and mixture with the citrus was something else... this could be easily transformed in a main dish.
The main dishes:
Venison loin with vegetables, red fruits and chocolate sauce reduction. This dish was good, but for me the meat should be slightly more red... beside that, the venison was very well seasoned and tender.
Veal with Autumn vegetables and mushrooms marmalade. the veal was really really good... with the perfectly pink! The mushroom sauce and the marmalade gave this dish a nice touch... different.
The dessert:
Parsnip ice.cream, glazed parsnip, walnuts and aniseed-flavored herbs. Really Really good!!! I becoming the biggest fan of this type of ice-cream... all this talented chefs liking to present something different... and forget the fruits! roots and vegetables are becoming the secret of the desserts.
In conclusion... I strongly advice you to visit this restaurant... for the food, for the space and for the good service.
